At the Tiber in Ponte Pattoli, trekking and cycling routes meet historic buildings. If you are travelling with your family, different interests can come together here in the same holiday: exercise, culture and food each add their own focus. When looking for a holiday apartment in Ponte Pattoli, this setting helps you choose the pace of your trip and plan your days around more than just a single attraction.

Landscape between Monte Tezio and the Tiber

The Tiber runs through the entire Ponte Pattoli area. Ponte Pattoli lies partly on the eastern slopes of Monte Tezio and partly extends along the riverbed. This is a useful distinction when choosing where to stay if you want to give different priority to walks, waterside routes or views of the slopes.

Trekking and cycling routes

The Florence–Perugia–Assisi route is a trekking and pilgrimage trail. It runs along the Tiber from Ponte Pattoli through Villa Pitignano to Ponte Felcino. At Ponte Pattoli, the Ciclovia del Tevere crosses the Tiber and then continues along the left bank on a dedicated combined cycle and pedestrian path. If not everyone in your family prefers the same daily rhythm, this distinction can make planning easier.

Historical traces in Ponte Pattoli

Villa Taticchi is located about 100 metres from the left bank of the Tiber. Its core is a medieval tower from the 14th century with four rooms arranged one above the other. Villa Taticchi is currently under the protection of, or subject to heritage restrictions imposed by, the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage. Today, it welcomes guests to its restaurant and guest rooms, as well as to events held in the historic residence.

Castello Rustichelli is located on the road running along the Tiber’s right bank in the village of Prozzonchio, near Ponte Pattoli. Historically, the bridge at Ponte Pattoli served as a link between different areas; bridges in the region had fulfilled this connecting function since ancient times. Parts of the walls of the former castle of Ponte Pattoli are still visible.

Church and cuisine on the Tiber

The Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta stands outside the now-vanished old walls of Ponte Pattoli Castle. It was built as a new church between 1787 and 1795. Its interior decoration was created in 1931 by the painters Piero Migliorati and Nicola Biagini, who came from Perugia.

At the Villa Taticchi restaurant, the menu includes seasonal ingredients and ingredients selected according to the “Km0” principle. For planning your trip, this provides a distinct focus alongside river routes and architectural history: when choosing your holiday apartment, you can give active, cultural and culinary interests different levels of priority.
