If you are planning a stay in a holiday apartment in Cardoso, you can expect a place where chestnut forests, mountain trails and local culture shape the character of the trip. The Cardoso basin is dominated by chestnut forest, with stands that are predominantly relatively pure. At the same time, specific paths lead to viewpoints, sanctuaries and historic sites. This allows you to divide your days between activity, scenery and discovery.

The road from Casalina leads to the starting points of the trails to Monte Forato and the Santuario di San Leonardo. Another hiking trail begins in Cardoso and leads to the site of the Trogna rock carvings and to the Santuario di San Leonardo. From the turnoff to the sanctuary, it is about 15 minutes to the rock carvings. From Trogna, the trail continues to Orzale and then returns to the starting point as a circular route. The Sentiero della Castagna also offers a clearly defined sequence of sections: it leads from Pruno to the hamlet of L'Orzale and joins the Sentiero 117 just below the hamlet.
