When choosing a holiday apartment in Telve, you can place culture, nature and active pursuits at the heart of your stay. Castellalto, the Chiesa dell’Assunzione di Maria and the Museo degli Usi e Tradizioni Telvate offer different ways to explore the area’s history, while the Oasi WWF di Valtrigona leads into a landscape at the foot of the Lagorai. This allows you to shape your stay around historical impressions, nature observation and outdoor activities.

Holiday apartment in Telve between culture and nature

From Trento, you can take the S.S. 47 della Valsugana towards Padua or Venice, exit at Borgo Valsugana and then follow the signs to Telve. Telve can also be reached via the Trento–Venice railway line, the Valsugana Railway; local buses run from Borgo Valsugana station to Telve station. These two options provide a clear practical framework for choosing the location.

Villa D’Anna is privately owned and not open to the public; the shop and workshop on the ground floor are excluded.

Castellalto, churches and local history

Castellalto was extensively expanded by Francesco di Castellalto between 1527 and 1556 and transformed into a stately residence. At the same time, Castellalto formed part of a fortification system in the Telve area. The complex can be reached via a walking trail from Parise, a hamlet of Telve. Palazzo Buffa can be traced back more than four centuries. In the Chiesa di Santa Giustina, the medieval frescoes were uncovered during restoration work from 1982 to 1984 and subsequently restored.

The Chiesa dell’Assunzione di Maria was first mentioned as early as the 12th century and acquired its present late Baroque appearance in the first half of the 18th century. The interior is decorated with frescoes painted by Francesco Chiletto in 1946. The church also preserves altars and sculptures by the respected Trentino sculptor Giuseppe Antonio Sartori from the 18th century. The Chiesa dell’Assunzione di Maria has daily visiting hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Using historical objects and materials, the Museo degli Usi e Tradizioni Telvate recreates a wine cellar and a stable; next to them is a forge for working with wood and metal. The Ecomuseo del Lagorai was recognised as an ecomuseum by the Province in 2007 and extends across adjacent areas of the municipalities of Telve, Telve di Sopra, Carzano and Torcegno.

Trails, forests and excursions in the Lagorai

The Oasi WWF di Valtrigona is located in the municipality of Telve, in a side valley of Val Calamento at the foot of the Lagorai. The Sentiero Natura leads through quiet larch and Swiss stone pine forests and provides an opportunity to discover the high-Alpine animal and plant life. There is also a lake for sport fishing on the Altopiano di Musiera.

The Sentiero dei castagni e dei castelli passes through Telve and is almost entirely suitable for mountain biking. From Telve, you can reach Passo Manghen via Val Calamento, the only crossing connecting Valsugana and Val di Fiemme through the Lagorai. When choosing your accommodation, you can therefore focus on culture, walking trails, nature or days of cycling.
