Holiday apartment in Piscine: hiking trails and village history

Piscine is a place from which several paths begin and where landscape and village history come together. The Sover e le sue frazioni hiking trail connects Piscine with Sover, Monte Alto and Montesover via paths through the forests of Alta Val di Cembra. Along this route, Piscine is considered the smallest settlement reached; eight Masi surround the village, some of which have been abandoned. Village history and living memory

The present-day Chiesa di Santa Barbara in Piscine was built from 1849 to 1851 in place of the former village church. The first chapel in Piscine was dedicated to the Madonna delle Grazie. The interior paintings in the Chiesa di Santa Barbara were created by Carlo Segatta and Oreste Albertini and date from 1937. The De sti ani la memoria collection in Piscine documents the former agrosilvopastoral activities of the village families, including the cultivation of grain and grapes, haymaking, livestock farming and milk processing. The memorabilia kept there also includes school notebooks from the 1930s.
