Holiday apartment in Castello-Molina Di Fiemme: discover culture and nature
Between meadows, stream and history
A holiday apartment in Castello-Molina Di Fiemme takes you to a setting shaped by diverse landscapes and cultural influences. Castello di Fiemme is a historic village situated in a broad, sunny meadow basin. Molina di Fiemme lies along the Avisio stream at the entrance to Val Cadino. Those who want to combine open landscapes with the history of an established settlement will find a wide range of starting points here for planning their own trip.
Ancient traces around Dos Zelor
At the eastern edge of Castello di Fiemme, Dos Zelor is a reminder of an ancient village that arose around 2,000 years ago and has since been buried. Its existence has been confirmed by archaeological findings. Dos Zelor was designated a cultural monument of regional interest in 1975 and incorporated into the historical heritage of Val di Fiemme. At Dos Zelor, a circular trail just under 2 km long leads along country roads and meadow paths; information boards explain the landscape, nature, traditions and history.
Churches and medieval buildings
The historical diversity includes several prominent religious buildings. The Chiesa di San Giorgio Martire was built between 1850 and 1856 on the site of the former Eppan castle, consecrated in 1864 and restored in 1925. In Molina, the Chiesa Parrocchiale di Sant’Antonio was built between 1846 and 1852 next to the Croz del Cogòl rock. North of the Chiesa di San Giorgio, the Chiesetta della Madonna di Lourdes originally features Gothic forms that were adapted in later periods; it was consecrated in 1216. Castello di Fiemme also has four medieval buildings known as "case romane".
Water landscape and craftsmanship
Lago di Stramentizzo is an artificial lake that holds back the water of the Avisio stream. The old village of Stramentizzo was flooded by the artificial Lago di Stramentizzo on 5 July 1956; the stone portal of the former church has been preserved. Another historic highlight is the Segheria Veneziana on the Rio Gambis. The sawmill was built in 1888 and powered by a three-metre wooden gravity water wheel.
Paths through the Riserva Locale di Brozin
The Riserva Locale di Brozin is of particular botanical, floristic, faunal and geological interest. It has a walking circular trail of approximately 3.5 km, with 15 information boards and three access points. The combination of nature-related topics and clear orientation makes the circular trail an independent option for days focused on landscape and discovery.
