Vintl at the entrance to the Pfunder Valley

Vintl lies at the entrance to the Pfunder Valley and is particularly known for the production of loden fabric. If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Vintl, you can explore the area through different holiday themes: textile tradition, regional specialities, historic architecture and nature trails are among the key points of interest. For families, the family-friendly Elfenweg themed trail offers a particularly engaging introduction to the local flora and fauna.

Holiday apartment in Vintl: loden, cheese and history

Lodenwelt in Vintl comprises an interactive museum, an open enclosure with sheep and a traditional loden workshop. During a guided tour of the Loden Museum, you will learn all about the production of traditional Bozen loden – from shearing the sheep to fulling and carding the wool, and finally spinning it. Capriz in Vintl offers a guided tour of the museum and demonstration dairy, followed by a cheese tasting in the shop. Vintl therefore offers a range of experiences if you would like to combine culture, craftsmanship and regional food during your stay.

Routes of different lengths

The Castel Raubschlössl circular trail in Obervintl offers two clearly distinct options: the shorter circuit is 2.8 kilometres long, while the longer circular hike is 4.8 kilometres. Both options start and end at the church in Obervintl. The Elfenweg in Obervintl has eleven interactive experience stations covering animal tracks, woodland animals and the local flora. While a section of the Elfenweg was closed, the Obervintl waterfall remained accessible via Schlossergasse. The different trail lengths help you plan active days according to your preferred distance, without the two routes offering the same experience.

Culture and trails in the surrounding area

In the wider area around Vintl, the Parthof farm is located along the Pfunders Farm Trail and features a themed museum that can only be visited as part of a guided tour. Also in the wider area around Vintl, half of the Pfunderer Höhenweg lies in the Gitschberg Jochtal holiday region. These two destinations represent different ways of exploring the area: the Parthof combines a themed museum visit with a farm, while the high-altitude trail provides an opportunity to include longer hiking experiences in the region. In Obervintl, the parish church of St Nicholas adds to the cultural landscape. It is a unified Gothic building dating from the late 15th century that was remodelled in the Baroque style in 1749.
