At the far end of the valley, just before Mühlwald/Selva dei Molini, lies Lake Selva dei Molini: a small reservoir at an altitude of around 1,220 metres. Farmhouses and flowering meadows shape the landscape on both slopes around the Selva dei Molini valley. When choosing a holiday apartment in Mühlwald, you can therefore give particular weight to the experiences in the valley and around the reservoirs.

Short routes around Lake Selva dei Molini

The circular trail around the Mühlwald reservoir is considered a short tour. The “Mühlwaldersee/Lago di Selva dei Molini” stop is served by bus route 451 and is about a one-minute walk from Lake Selva dei Molini. Parking is available for visitors to Lake Selva dei Molini at the Meggima car park by the lake. The Selva dei Molini valley also has several themed trails where you can get to know the valley better. After a hike through the Selva dei Molini valley, the return journey on bus route 451 takes 10 minutes.

Forest, water and special places

Another nature experience leads into the forest: the Raschtl Waterfall is a secluded waterfall deep in the forest above Mühlwald/Selva dei Molini. The hike there begins at Lake Selva dei Molini (Meggima) and follows the yellow signs marked “R-Raschtl-Wasserfälle”. This allows you to combine a stay at the lake with a hike to a striking forest destination.

Water as a natural and cultural experience

Since 2010, the museum Magia dell'Acqua has conveyed the creative and destructive forces of water. The museum trail Magia dell'Acqua is located in the old parish cellar in Lappago. Here, the subject of water is encountered not only in the landscape, but also as a cultural exploration of its formative and destructive aspects.

Summer at the Neves Reservoir

Access to the Neves Reservoir and the dam is barrier-free and well signposted. In summer, the dam of the Neves Reservoir can be crossed on foot. Also in summer, the Neves Reservoir can be reached from Lappago via a narrow mountain road subject to a toll.

Culture and winter sports for families

The parish church of St. Gertraud in Mühlwald was consecrated on 1 September 1838. For families with children, the “Snow & Fun Tamarix” Family Park adds another option to the travel plans: children can try out various winter sports there.

Choose accommodation based on your daily plans

When choosing accommodation in Mühlwald, you can use your desired mix of water, forest, culture and winter sports as a guide. A short tour, themed trails and the Raschtl Waterfall are ideal for active discoveries; the museum, parish church and museum trail add cultural highlights. For families with children, the Snow & Fun Tamarix Family Park is another option, while the Neves Reservoir provides a particular reason for an excursion, especially in summer.
