The Burgstall ruins still include a square tower, a residential building and a curtain wall. The remains of the curtain wall of Burgstall Castle can still be visited today. Burgstall Parish Church also spans several historical periods: it was built at the beginning of the 19th century in the neo-Romanesque style on the foundations of a medieval church. The tower and choir date back to around 1500. The parish church also contains an altarpiece of the Adoration of the Magi dated 1541, created by Barlmä Dill Riemenschneider, the son of the famous woodcarver. The historical traces thus range from the medieval foundations and the period around 1500 to the painting from 1541.

Hillside trails and regional places to stop for refreshments

The walking trail with fitness stations is named after Count Volkmar von Burgstall and runs for around 4 km along the hillside. At around 4 km, the walking trail on the Burgstall hillside provides a fixed framework for planning the day without specifying a particular walking time. Along the route near the Burgstall ruins, there is a fitness trail with several stations for exercise and active recreation. The Burgstall Höfeweg trail passes the Wieslerhof and Kofler wine taverns; Wieslerhof is closed from May until the end of September. Anyone combining the Höfeweg trail with a stop for refreshments should take Wieslerhof's closure from May until the end of September into account; the trail also passes Kofler.
