It conveys the history of brigandage through inscriptions, photographs, folk poems, small objects and copies of ransom letters. Between the 19th and 20th centuries, the cave actually served as a refuge for brigands. “Latifondo e lotte contadine” recalls the post-war peasant struggles for a fairer distribution of agricultural produce, uncultivated or poorly managed land, and the dismantling of feudal estates. “Come eravamo” is located in an old house built in the first half of the 19th century.

The Museo della Zolfara “Angelo Petix” houses the permanent exhibition “Zolfare e zolfatari di Montedoro, civica raccolta di testimonianze etnostoriche,” featuring photographs, reconstructions, minerals and mining tools. It is located at the entrance to the Parco Urbano di Montedoro on Monte Ottavio, near the Nadurello mine, the oldest and longest-operating mine in Montedoro. The Montedoro Observatory is also located on Monte Ottavio, west of the built-up area. It houses a Newton-Cassegrain astronomical telescope with a 600-millimeter primary mirror. The observatory also organized astronomy courses and guided tours during the day and in the evening for schools, libraries and the general public. The “Margherita Hack” Planetarium has a dome with a diameter of 7.0 meters, 50 seats and a digital planetarium that can also project full-dome films.
