The Chianca Santo Stefano trilith consists of three stone slabs in the shape of a gate and more closely resembles the megaliths of Northern Europe than the other dolmens of Salento.

The Torre Colombaia detta Palumbaru stands on the outskirts of Carpignano Salentino, in the Cacorzo area, and dates from the period between the late 14th and early 15th centuries. The tower is 12 metres high and has a circumference of 62 metres. The complex includes another square tower; both towers have thousands of nesting cells for pigeons. Near Cacorzo there are also underground neviere, around three to four metres deep and partly covered with barrel vaults, which were used to store snow.
