Miklósi: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

History

Miklósi was first mentioned in documents dating from 1332 to 1337. In 1436, the two settlements of Alsó-Miklósi and Felső-Miklósi were already mentioned in the area of Miklósi.

In the first half of the 18th century, German settlers from Mainz and the Palatinate came to Miklósi. The predecessor settlement of present-day Miklósi was located in Ráctemető-dűlő and was destroyed during the Ottoman occupation.

Perneszipuszta, in the municipality of Miklósi, was a market town in the Middle Ages and also a church settlement.

Culture

In front of the church in Miklósi stands a war memorial bearing the names of those who fell in the First and Second World Wars. The Miklósi war memorial lists the names of 29 local residents who did not return from the fronts of the First World War.

The patronal feast of the Keresztelő-Szent-János Church in Miklósi takes place on 24 June.

At Házi-föld in Miklósi, there is an above-ground settlement trace from the Roman period. A medieval cemetery surrounding a church is located near Belső-Pernec.

There are extensive Bronze Age settlement sites in the area around Miklósi.

Nature

The European crayfish (Astacus astacus) lives in the Zics-Miklósi watercourse.

Leisure

The Nagy-Tímea Leisure Park is located in the centre of Miklósi and is named after Olympic champion and fencer Nagy Tímea. The leisure park was built using prize money.

The Nagy-Tímea Leisure Park has an ornamental pond with benches and candelabras in the surrounding area. The park also includes a football pitch.

Transport

Buses run from Miklósi to the nearest towns of Tab and Siófok.
