Balatonszéplak offers several ways to make your holiday days varied: at Ezüstpart, the focus is on the beach and sports; a 20 km cycling tour passes through Balatonszéplak, while local history becomes visible in its places and names. A day at the beach on Ezüstpart

The designated free Ezüstpart beach covers approximately 1,200 m². It is bordered by Csongor utca to the east and Egri János utca to the west. On site, there are several changing rooms, outdoor showers and toilets. The facilities are complemented by sports and leisure amenities, including several volleyball, teqball and foot tennis courts.

This allows you to plan a holiday day in different ways: you can spend time by the shore or schedule sporting activities. Families can take the individual travellers’ interests into account when planning their day, without structuring every holiday day in the same way. When choosing your accommodation, it is therefore particularly important which experiences you would like to combine during your stay.

Balatonszéplak between holiday history and local character

The history of the settlement reaches back to the development of holiday tourism. Balatonszéplak was established and discovered as a holiday resort at the beginning of the 1930s. Szűcs Zsigmond, who came from Budapest, designed the Balatonszéplak holiday complex in 1929–1930. These years provide the local history with a clear chronological framework and make the resort character part of the destination itself.

Names also tell the story of the area’s development. The part of Balatonszéplak in question was formerly called Balatonlidó because of its sandy shore; however, Balatonlidó was never the official name. The present name Ezüstpart also has a historical background: the shore running east of Siófok, also known as Aranypart, was intended for the construction of hotels. The section designated for company holiday homes remained in Széplak and was given the new name Ezüstpart.

A statue of Mihály Károlyi stands on Végh-Ignác Square in Balatonszéplak-felső. Together with the place names and the history of the holiday complex, this provides a concrete way to approach the settlement’s past, without requiring you to structure your stay around a single museum or a specific event.

A 20 km cycling tour through several stops

For active holiday days, the cycling tour “Madárdalos élmények a Töreki Természetvédelmi Területen” is a tangible option. The 20 km route runs from Siófok via Balatonszéplak-alsó railway station, Töreki (Cinege pihenő) and Balatonszéplak-felső back to Siófok. Balatonszéplak is therefore explicitly part of the route. If you plan this tour, the settlement may be particularly interesting to you because you can combine a cycling excursion with additional days at Ezüstpart.

The summer peak-season timetable may also play a role in your planning. From 1 July, the N5 bus runs between the town centre and Kiliti and serves Ezüstpart and Balatonszéplak. If you do not want to organise every journey in the same way, you can take this seasonal bus connection into account when looking for a suitable holiday apartment. The specific accommodation and its facilities remain a separate choice.
