Szenna lies in a scenic valley on the Deregélyi stream and is surrounded by wooded hills as well as named local elevations.
A large part of the municipality belongs to the Zselic Landscape Protection Area, whose territory is described as being 70 percent forested.
The surrounding protected landscape is associated with native tree species, medicinal plants, protected flowers, and wild animals such as roe deer, red deer, wild boar, and pheasants. The landscape therefore suits an interest in native plants and wildlife.
Szenna is connected by road to Kaposvár and the surrounding settlements.

Culture
The Vadvirágút sculpture group depicts native, protected, and specially protected flowers of the Zselic region in sculptural form; four of its sculptures can be found in Szenna at the entrance to the village, by the post office, in the car park of the open-air museum, and near the Trivium site.
At 38 Árpád utca, Szenna preserves a protected farmhouse known locally as the “Zóka Peti Lidi néni house”.
