The Freisinger Buckl is near Gaden. A 2019 district brochure describes it as a nature reserve covering just under 24 hectares, with calcareous grassland and numerous highly endangered plant and animal species. The former home and studio of Franz Xaver Stahl offers a glimpse into the area’s history through its historic furniture and Biedermeier house dating from around 1840. The former studio has remained unchanged since Stahl’s death.

Guided tours in Erding introduce residents and visitors to the history of the town and its buildings. A tour of the town tower takes you to one of Erding’s oldest buildings. After climbing 163 steps, you reach a height of 35 metres. From there, the view extends across Erding and the surrounding area to Munich; when the Föhn wind blows, the Alpine panorama comes into view as well.

The routes in Erding also vary in the time they take: the hiking trails are between 5.9 and 15 kilometres long, with estimated walking times ranging from one and a half to five hours. The themed walks take around an hour and lead through the old town, through different parts of town or in the footsteps of artists.
