Culture

The Château de Miolans is classified as a historic monument. Until 1792, it served as a state prison.

The “Eglise et Mairie” attraction comprises a church with paintings from the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as a wedding hall in the town hall decorated with panoramic wallpapers from the early 18th century. Visits are possible by request only.

The Caveau des Augustins is located in vaulted rooms beneath the town hall of Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny. In the 14th century, these rooms were the church of an Augustinian monastery. The Caveau des Augustins contains gravestones belonging to the lords of Miolans, Montmayeur and Lescheraines. It is open for exhibitions featuring paintings and sculptures.

The Orgue de Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny was built in 2010 by the Belgian organ manufacturer Thomas in the Thuringian style. Concerts and masterclasses are occasionally held throughout the year in connection with the Orgue de Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny.

Nature

Lac de Carouge is a former gravel pit that was converted into a leisure area covering almost 10 hectares. Supervised swimming is available there during the summer season. The eastern part of Lac de Carouge is designated as a Natura 2000 site and is described as rich in biodiversity.

Activities

Five signposted mountain biking routes begin at the Carouge leisure area. The Chemin des Vignes is a hiking trail approximately 30 kilometres long that passes through Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny, vineyards and villages. It combines a route through the vineyards with the tasting of Savoie wines.

The Sentier d'accès au GRP® Tour des Bauges depuis Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny begins at the Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny railway station, passes through the town and then reaches the paths of the Bauges. Signposted circular routes lead from the vineyards of the Combe de Savoie to the summit of the Arclusaz. The Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny SNCF railway station can be used to return to the starting point of the Chemin des Vignes.
