Culture and History

The church of Saint-Oyen is a Baroque church dating from 1655. Its façade features a polychrome wooden statue of Saint Oyen, the patron saint of the village, in a niche.

The Saint-Roch Chapel was completed in 1634, four years after the plague of 1630. It is dedicated to Saint Roch, Saint Fabian and Saint Sebastian, who were invoked against the plague.

The Notre-Dame-du-Puits Chapel contains a canvas painting of the Virgin and Child as well as small statuettes.

The passage du pressoir contains a press screw dating from 1797.

Above the village oven, the small museum Le p’tit musée displays objects, clothing and stories about the lives of previous generations.

The communal bread oven of Saint-Oyen is frequently used for bread-making events organised by the village association SOLAN (“Saint-Oyen Loisirs ANimations”).

Nature and Trails

The Circuit des Bachals starts at the Place de la Mairie; there are benches and picnic tables at the Aire du Moulin.

Another hike follows a path through the forest of Saint-Oyen to the La Léchère thermal spa at the level of Radiana.

The Trail des Eaux Blanches passes through Saint-Oyen.
