Notre-Dame-du-Pré is particularly well suited to mountain hikes. Numerous other mountain trails and paths are open for hiking in the area. At 2,558 metres, Mont Jovet is the highest point in Notre-Dame-du-Pré and defines the village’s mountain character.

Nature
The municipality of Notre-Dame-du-Pré borders the buffer zone of Vanoise National Park. The remote hamlet of Hauteville can only be reached on foot. The Hauteville loop begins at the car park on Place du Village in the main village of Notre-Dame-du-Pré.
The Notre-Dame-du-Pré–Montmagny route is an easy circular hike that begins at Place du Village in Notre-Dame-du-Pré. Along the way, it passes the Pierre à Cupules, a stone with round and linear cup marks that are at least 3,000 years old. On the same route, after around 20 minutes on foot, the Bois du Torrond viewpoint offers a sweeping view of the Tarentaise and the villages of Montgirod, Centron and Villette below.
The waters of the Nant Gelé flow into the Cascade de Lachail and can be turbulent at times. The Le Rocher du Glaisy climbing crag has at least 230 bolted routes and can be accessed from Camping du Glaisy; the spot offers a panorama surrounded by nature.
The village’s mountain guides and leaders’ office organises starry nights with a bivouac on the summit of Mont Jovet every summer weekend, offering the chance to experience the sunset and sunrise at an altitude of 2,558 metres.

Culture
The Église Notre-Dame is a Baroque church dating from the 17th century. It replaced a smaller building dedicated to Mary from the 12th century. Notre-Dame-du-Pré is also home to a colourful altarpiece carved by Pierre-Antoine Marauet after 1847.
