Culture and History

The new town of Les Marches was founded in 1301. The Église des Marches is a neoclassical church from the early 19th century, built by G. Trivelli, and can be visited independently all year round.

Nature

Lac de Saint-André lies at the foot of Mont Granier. It is a protected natural area and is classified as a “Grand Site” of the département. In the lake area, 216 legally protected plant species and 25 legally protected dragonfly species have been recorded.

The Circuit patrimonial des Abymes passes through Les Marches and through the vineyards at the foot of the Chartreuse massif.

The hike through the Vignobles du Granier et lac Saint-André follows Lac Saint-André at the beginning.
