La Thuile: Holiday Apartments and Houses
Lac de La Thuile is a natural lake of glacial origin in the Bauges Massif and the only natural lake in this massif.

Nature
At the Roche du Guet viewpoint, there is a panorama over the Combe de Savoie, the Grésivaudan and the Belledonne Massif. An interpretation panel is located there; the viewpoint lies at the southern tip of the Bauges Massif. It can be reached on foot from the village of La Thuile and from the hamlet of Lac via a marked trail.
Trails and views
The hike Les crêtes de La Thuile runs along the ridges and offers unobstructed views of the surrounding massifs. The route is marked with yellow-green markings and yellow hiking signs; at the “Le Tapin-Ouest” sign, there is a difficult section secured with a cable.
From the summit of the route via Mont Rochefort, there is a view of Lac de La Thuile. There are unsecured rock faces near the summit of this route.
Activities
The Pierrier des Quarts climbing site near Lac de La Thuile offers several varied, equipped climbing routes on high-quality limestone rock. The site is open to everyone, suitable for all climbing levels and used at the users’ own risk.
Geocaching is a modern outdoor treasure hunt conducted using GPS or a smartphone.
History
Col du Mont is a natural pass connecting La Thuile with Cruet; from there, the most direct route leads into the valley. Historically, it was a familiar crossing for residents of La Thuile who owned a vineyard plot in the municipality of Cruet.
