Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment can include La Motte-Servolex as a destination in their personal travel planning. The Parcours santé is a 1,150-metre-long fitness trail starting at the CLEM. It runs along the Nant Bruyant through a wooded landscape with cascades and includes exercise stations such as platforms for abdominal exercises and push-ups, as well as a pull-up bar.
Nature
The route to the Marais de Pré Lombard is easy and close to the town. It passes over the Plateau de Servolex, through agricultural and wooded areas, and through marshland. At the Marais, the route follows the Leysse; information boards focus on the fish of the river. From Chambéry city centre, the Marais de Pré Lombard can be reached by bus routes C or 1 towards De Gaulle, getting off at the “La Motte Centre” stop.
The ascent to the Col de l’Épine is a sporty hike that leads mostly through the forest along partly steep paths. There are picnic areas along the route at Pré-Puisat and at the pass. It offers views of Lac du Bourget and the Bauges, Belledonne and Chartreuse mountain ranges. There is also a viewpoint at the Col de l’Épine with a landscape interpretation board.
The Château Richard forest hike is very challenging and includes a section with metal ladders, which can be bypassed by following the directional signs. The route offers views of Mont Blanc, the Bauges, Lauzière, Belledonne and Chartreuse mountain ranges, Lac d’Aiguebelette and the Avant-Pays savoyard.
Other routes complement this range: The Boucle des hameaux is an 11-kilometre hike with 360 metres of elevation gain through the hamlet area of La Motte-Servolex. Les Hauts de Chamoux is an easy 3.6-kilometre circular hike that runs mostly along forest paths and offers views of Chambéry, the surrounding mountain ranges and Lac du Bourget. The Boucle des Janons is a 2-kilometre family trail in the Tremblay area.
Culture
The Domaine Reinach covers 40 hectares in La Motte-Servolex in Savoie, lies at the foot of the Épine mountain range and faces east towards Mont Revard and Nivolet. Most of the Domaine Reinach is listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments. The Château Reinach was renovated from 1899 to 1903 and designed in the Neo-Louis XIII style using brick and stone.
La Conciergerie presents solo and group exhibitions of contemporary art and offers guided tours. It can be reached from Chambéry by bus route C. La Motte-Servolex also has a 45-minute urban art tour through the town, which can be explored on foot, with a pushchair, by bicycle or on a skateboard. The tour can be visited independently at any time; guided tours are available by arrangement, and educational materials are available on request.
Le M.U.R. LMS uses a wall in La Motte-Servolex to present new and ephemeral works of urban art. As part of an annual programme, Le M.U.R. LMS presents a new mural every quarter.
History
The square base of the Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste still preserves defensive elements on the first floor and is therefore considered a Romanesque remnant that has been remodelled several times over time.
