La Giettaz: Apartments and Holiday Homes

The L'Abbaye snowshoe trail is a short walking route starting from La Giettaz. One variant takes 1 hour and 45 minutes and is 4.1 kilometres long. The trail passes the Oratoire des Clapières, which is described as the oldest oratory in Val d'Arly.
La Giettaz is listed in the Savoie Prefecture register under the protected biotope area of Les Aravis.
Culture and History
The Église Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens is dedicated to Saint Peter in Chains and was rebuilt in the mid-19th century in place of a medieval church building. Its floor plan is in the shape of a Greek cross, and the central dome features frescoes from 1848. The church is an example of the late Baroque Savoyard style, with an onion-shaped bell tower and historic furnishings.
The Musée A la Rencontre du Passé is located in an old house in the centre of the village of La Giettaz. It includes a woodworking workshop and an exhibition on snow featuring skis, sledges and bobsleighs. The museum also presents traditional Savoyard homes and domestic life.
The Les Chalets d’Alpage route makes it possible to discover the hamlets and cultural heritage of La Giettaz, including a church, an oratory and mountain chalets.
Winter and Agriculture
La Rose du Chapet is a marked ski touring route from Pont de l'Armoy in Plan de la Giettaz to the summit of Tête du Torraz. It is one of the 12 marked ski touring routes in the Portes du Mont-Blanc area.
Ferme de la Gardette produces Reblochon, Tommes and Raclettes and sells them directly from the farm; in winter, free visits are possible during milking. By prior reservation, Ferme de la Gardette offers guided visits focusing on mountain farming, animals, milking and cheese-making.
