Nature and Trails

The Sentier ludique du Grenand follows the Grenand mountain stream and uses its water formations, including the so-called marmites, as a playful learning theme covering geology, plant reproduction, energy, and chemistry. The gorges of the Combe du Grenand are steep, and the water level can rise suddenly.

The Canyon du Grenant begins in Attignat-Oncin and ends in La Bridoire. It is a canyon of the “adventure terrain” type, accessible to a wide audience when accompanied by qualified professionals.

The Moulin Bovagnet opens to the public free of charge every year in May during the European Mill Days and in September during the European Heritage Days. In July and August, summer tours are offered on Thursdays by prior reservation.

The church of La Bridoire was completely rebuilt in 1820 on the site of the former church. In 1833, two side chapels were opened and the nave was extended forwards.

The structure locally known as the “Mur des Sarrazins” is actually believed to be the surviving upright remains of a Gallo-Roman aqueduct of the siphon bridge type and is considered the only currently known above-ground aqueduct in Savoie.

A local initiative focused on the history of La Bridoire presents the history of the area through historical brochures, audio accounts recorded by older village residents, and guided walks to various sites in the town.

The Eiffel-style railway viaduct of La Bridoire was opened to traffic in 1884 with the inauguration of the Saint-André-le-Gaz–Chambéry railway line. It consists of two metal spans with a central support and is 72.65 m long overall.
