Bozel: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In the centre of Bozel, on the right bank of the Bonrieu mountain stream, stands the Tour Sarrazine. It dates from the late 12th century and is described as the oldest building in the Tarentaise Valley. The fully restored Tour Sarrazine houses a permanent exhibition about life in the canton from the Neolithic period to the present day.

Culture

The Chapelle Notre-Dame de Tout-Pouvoir was an important pilgrimage site for the entire valley. Its altarpiece is classified as a Monument historique. The altarpiece in the Church of Saint-François-de-Sales depicts not only the healing of a child but also a scene from Raphael’s “Transfiguration of Christ”.

The Church of Saint-François-de-Sales has a spire with a double onion dome, described as one of the most distinctive silhouettes in Savoie.

Hiking

The Boucle du Mont Jovet is a 13-kilometre-long, signposted hiking trail starting in Bozel and classified as difficult. The route to Mont Jovet leads to the 2,558-metre-high summit, which offers panoramic views.

The Sentier des Vignes is an easy 14-kilometre-long hiking trail in Bozel that can also be used by bicycle. It starts at the Bozel tourist office. The “Les Rives du Doron” Promenade Confort is a 2.1-kilometre-long, very easy circular route in Bozel.

Water

At the Plan d'eau de Bozel, kayaking, airboating, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, group paddling and rafting are offered for individuals and groups. Swimming there is free and supervised from 27 June to 27 August; there is one pool for children and another for adults.

The Plan d'eau de Bozel has parking spaces, including a coach car park; the site is accessible to pushchairs.

Experiences

Les Poneys du Jovet offers pony taster sessions from the age of two, 20- to 30-minute introductory rides for children aged two to ten, rides in the forest and introductory courses in outdoor riding; during these activities, a parent holds the child’s pony.

Bozel Aventure is a high ropes course in a spruce forest on the banks of the Doron de Bozel. As a children’s amusement park, Bozel Fun Park offers trampoline nets, a trampoline cage, inflatable games and beach volleyball and is suitable for children aged two and over.
