Winegrowing
Domaine Dupraz at Reposoir in Apremont has been run by generations of the Dupraz winemaking family since 1880 and produces Apremont, Roussette and Mondeuse. It offers cellar tours, walks through the vineyards, and explanations of vineyard work and the history of the terroir.
Domaine Philippe Chapot cultivates around 14 hectares in Apremont with traditional Savoyard grape varieties such as Jacquère, red Mondeuse and Altesse. By appointment, it offers wine tastings in its wine cellar.
Caveau Betemps Philippe cultivates 8 hectares of AOC Apremont and AOC Abymes vines on the slopes of Apremont and offers tastings of its various crus.
Domaine Maréchal – Le P'tiou Vigneron welcomes visitors to its wine cellar, featuring antique décor, for wine tastings; it is located in the heights of Apremont.
The AOP wine-growing areas of Abymes and Apremont have developed on the scree slopes at the foot of Mont Granier.
Trails
The Sentier du Pichut is an easy trail through woodland and vineyards. It passes vineyard huts known as “sartos” and crosses the Apremont vineyard. The trail is 3.7 km long, has a cumulative elevation gain of 150 m and takes around two hours.
The Cascade du Pichut plunges down the Torrent du Rouselet. From the church in Apremont, it can be reached via an accessible walking trail at the foothills of the Chartreuse.
Nature
Mont Granier has a rock face over 900 metres high and towers over the Combe and the cluse of Savoie.
The Col du Granier features information panels, starting points for hikes and a rest area with a relay facility.
On the numerous hiking trails near the Col du Granier, you may be lucky enough to spot the rare lady’s-slipper orchid, which is protected in France and blooms at the beginning of summer.
