The “La Grotte Sarrazine - Thélis-la-Combe No. 2” route is an easy 6.1 km circular hike lasting approximately three hours.

The hiking event “La Théline”, considered to have been held for the 14th time, featured four signposted routes of 8, 13, 19 and 23 km. The start and registration took place in the town centre; refreshments and a hot meal were offered between noon and 5 p.m.

Nature

The “Crêts du Pilat” Natura 2000 site also covers Thélis-la-Combe. Important habitats of Community interest include beech-fir forests covering 436 hectares, montane heaths covering 130 hectares, and montane grasslands and meadows covering 98 hectares.

The Riotet is a stream in Thélis-la-Combe known for trout fishing and lined with beech forests.

The Grotte Sarrazine can be accessed; however, it is located on private property, and there is a risk of falling from the rocks.

The Thélis-la-Combe picnic area is located in a small pine forest above the Déôme Valley on the GR 42 and offers views of the Taillard Forest and the mountains of Ardèche.

Culture

The church of Thélis-la-Combe was built from granite blocks. Construction began in 1857 and was completed in 1860. The church contains a wooden Christ carved by a local artist and stained-glass windows.

The very old hamlet of Hameau de Bernes has preserved its traditional granite houses.

History

La Croix de la Pauze was erected in 1775. There, the pallbearers rested on the large stone slabs while the procession recited prayers.
