A specially constructed wooden footbridge leads visitors to the centre of the Tourbière de Gimel. The wetland lies at the sources of the Dunerette at an altitude of 1,200 metres; in June, dragonflies and cottongrass can be observed there. A car park serves as the starting point, and the Tourbière de Gimel is also accessible to wheelchair users with assistance.

Nature
The Plans d'eau de Prélager form a wetland classified as a Natura 2000 site and a chain of seven artificial ponds. These were created for recreational purposes in the second half of the 19th century along the course of the Dunerette, near its sources, and extend at an altitude of around 1,100 metres directly below the hamlet of Prélager. The La Couronne pond is a first-category fishing water.
Views
The Table d'orientation du sommet de Panère is located at an altitude of 1,302 metres and can only be reached on foot from the village of Saint-Régis-du-Coin or the hamlet of Gimel. The Table d'orientation du crêt de Chaussître is located at an altitude of 1,220 metres. From the car park above the hamlet of Teil, it can be reached in ten minutes on foot via the Chemin du Teil and offers views over Yssingelais and Haute-Loire.
Culture and trails
At the Chapelle et le petit clos is the enclosure of the first cemetery, opposite the original church dating from 1830. The new church was completed in 1896, and its stained-glass windows were made the following year.
The Chemin de Petaloup is still paved and surfaced with slabs for 100 metres, showcasing a road-building technique typical of the Ancien Régime. At the same time, it forms part of a pilgrimage route to Compostela connecting the Rhône with Le Puy. The Pierre des 3 évêques is a stone with a diameter of 2.50 metres located on the watershed. Under the Romans, it marked the boundaries between the provinces of La Lyonnaise, La Gaule and La Narbonnaise; in the Middle Ages, it became the meeting point of the dioceses of Lyon, Vienne and Le Puy-en-Velay.
Activities
The Pôle Trail in Saint-Régis-du-Coin is located in the Parc Naturel Régional du Pilat. It has a reception area with changing rooms, showers and lockers, as well as a Nordic walking route, a Cani-Cross route, two permanent trail routes, a Training Zone and a Training Park. In the heights of the Parc du Pilat, the Pôle Trail includes more than ten marked-out routes with varying levels of difficulty and technical requirements, as well as three dedicated training circuits: “TRAINING ZONE”, “TRAINING COTE” and “FARTLEK”.
The La Glacière route is a 6.8-kilometre Cani-Cross route with 100 metres of elevation gain. The Les Menhirs de Gimel route is a 21-kilometre trail route with 540 metres of elevation gain. Most of the paths in Saint-Régis-du-Coin are suitable for mountain biking.
The Domaine Nordique de St Régis du Coin offers 15 kilometres of groomed and marked Nordic ski routes starting in the village of Saint-Régis-du-Coin. The game “Drosira et la Tourbière musicale” combines a nature rally and investigation tasks at the Tourbière de Gimel with challenges and a final game.
