Malleval: Holiday apartments and houses

The wooded gorges around the village centre are known as the Gorges de Malleval. The Belvédère de Malleval offers a view of the village: it is located at an altitude of 283 metres on a bend in the D 79.

Nature

The Saut de Laurette waterfall plunges over the rocks a few minutes' walk from Malleval village centre, amid a wild, green setting. It forms where the Épervier stream flows into the Batalon near Malleval.

The Batalon is approximately 9 kilometres long, flows through Lupé and Malleval, and is joined there by the Épervier before flowing into the Rhône at Saint-Pierre-de-Bœuf.

At the Belvédère de Malleval, a picnic table can be reached via a paved path with a gradient of less than 5 per cent.

Activities

The Espace sports orientation de Malleval offers four photographic orienteering courses. The selection includes four courses of increasing difficulty, from green to black.

The “De Malleval à Saint-Pierre-de-Bœuf” route passes through the Batalon gorges and continues to the banks of the Rhône.

A hiking trail leads through the medieval village of Malleval to the foot of the Saut de Laurette waterfall.

Wine

At Domaine Pierre Gaillard, there is a freely accessible educational trail providing information about various grape varieties as well as the work carried out in the vineyard during summer and winter.

Domaine Pierre Gaillard offers tastings of Condrieu, Côte-Rôtie and Saint-Joseph wines. The winery is located above the medieval village of Malleval and can be reached on foot from the village through the vineyards.
