Nature and Landscape
The Collet de Doizieux hiking trail offers views of the Rhône Valley and the Alps. From Roche Beurlante, the panorama extends as far as Pierre-sur-Haute.
The mountains of La Chaux de Toureyre, La Chaux de l'Égalet, Crêt de l'Œillon and Crêt de Botte are located in the immediate vicinity of Doizieux. At Crêt de Montchaud, an agriculturally shaped valley floor contrasts with mountains and ridges intensively used for forestry.
Culture and History
The medieval Tour de Doizieux is listed as a historic monument and is one of the few surviving 13th-century structures in the Loire department. By decree of 6 September 2004, the Tour de Doizieux was protected as a historic monument.
The Church of Saint-Laurent-Saint-Étienne in Doizieux was built in 1804. A Gothic stained-glass window from the collegiate church of Saint-Chamond was installed above the entrance; stained-glass windows from the 16th century were also reused.
At the Maison des tresses et lacets, an outdoor trail follows the Dorlay past water-management installations. These include a mill channel, water intakes and basins that served to supply energy to the machinery of textile factories.
A restored waterwheel, which once powered looms, is located along the Route Vallée du Dorlay. At the northern entrance to the village, the route identifies the Tour de Doizieux, the church and the Roche du Suaire as prominent landmarks.

Kayaking is possible at the Barrage du Dorlay in summer.
