Chambœuf: Holiday apartments and houses

A distinctive attraction in Chambœuf is the Circuit de la rose: the free, signposted route begins at the Place de l’église, is just under one kilometre long, and is suitable for people with reduced mobility. The rose garden trail in Chambœuf is planted with more than 6,500 Meilland roses; guided tours of the Circuit de la rose are offered during the flowering season.

Culture

The Église abbatiale de Jourcey (ancienne) has been listed as a historic monument (Monument historique) since 18 August 1950. Its main construction phase is dated to the 12th century. In the choir of the church in Chambœuf there is a large carved wooden Christ on a cherry-wood cross, dating from the late 17th century. The church also has a white Carrara marble altar dedicated to Saint Blandina, dating from the early 19th century.

The church includes two exposed Gothic stone bays, probably dating from the 15th century. The preserved Romanesque chapel of the former priory of Jourcey is considered the most important surviving testimony of the municipality of Chambœuf.

Nature

La Coulée Verte is a themed walking and recreational sports trail with sports and obstacle courses, as well as a picnic area on the Chemin de la Combe in Chambœuf. La Coulée Verte also includes streams and wetlands where nature is allowed to spread again and which are therefore left to develop naturally.

Paths and walks

The Maison de la Rose presents an intimate exhibition about the life, family, company, and roses of Antoine Meilland. Admission to the Maison de la Rose and to the path through the garden-village tour is free. A self-guided visit to the Maison de la Rose takes approximately 30 minutes.
