The Abbaye de Talloires developed from a chapel and subsequently a monastery; its present-day abbey was built by Benedictine monks in the 17th century. The Abbaye de Talloires hosts numerous exhibitions that are open to the public.
The Church of Saint Maurice de Talloires, dedicated to Saint Mauritius, dates from the 18th century and contains polychrome wooden sculptures.
Nature
The Roc de Chère national nature reserve in Talloires-Montmin was established in 1977 and covers 69 hectares. The Réserve naturelle du Roc de Chère comprises limestone slopes and marshy hollows with diverse natural habitats.
The Cascade d’Angon is accessible from the village of Talloires.
Activities
The Roc de Chère circular trail – Circuit pédestre des Belvédères features a landscaped themed discovery trail. It leads through the protected forest of the Réserve naturelle du Roc de Chère and offers panoramic views of Lac d’Annecy and the surrounding peaks.
There are canyoning descents using rappelling at the 60-metre-high Cascade d’Angon.
Water
The Cercle Nautique de Talloires offers sailing lessons and rents out Optimists, catamarans, windsurfing boards and kayaks. Lake shuttles to Annecy operate from the Talloires pier.
