The wooden boat “Le Seyssel” is 13 metres long, can accommodate up to 12 passengers and is moored at Port Gallatin in Seyssel, Haute-Savoie. It is used to share the history of shipping in Seyssel and the natural riches of the Haut-Rhône.
Winegrowing
The Caves de Seyssel welcome visitors to the chai for tastings of still and sparkling AOC Seyssel wines. The Seyssel wine-growing region lies predominantly on partly steep slopes above the Rhône, especially in the municipality of Corbonod and, to a lesser extent, in the two municipalities separated by the Rhône: Seyssel in Ain and Seyssel in Haute-Savoie.
Culture and history
The suspension bridge in Seyssel was built between 1838 and 1840. A statue of the Virgin Mary, described as the patron saint of boatmen, stands on its central bridge pier.
The Maison du Haut-Rhône is an exhibition space on the banks of the Rhône. It provides information about the history of the first port on the Rhône and the transportation of goods by water. A screening room presents the story of the construction of the Génissiat dam.
Le Pont des Z'Arts is an associative art gallery with exhibitions of paintings and sculptures by French and international artists held throughout the year. The church of Seyssel dates from the 14th century and was the “Vierge du Bon Départ”, whom boatmen greeted as they passed by.

The “Trois empreintes pour un même paysage” hiking trail begins in the centre of Seyssel and leads up to the higher parts of the town. In Seyssel, the Via Rhôna runs along the tourist office. TER trains provide access to Seyssel-Corbonod station.
