The ruins of Abbaye d'Aulps were classified as a historic monument by decree of 6 October 1902. The Domaine de Découverte de la Vallée d'Aulps presents the remains of an abbey church dating from the 11th century. A 650 m² interpretation centre is located in the restored former monks' farm of the Domaine de Découverte de la Vallée d'Aulps.

The ABBAYE-D’AULPS-3D experience can be used with a virtual reality headset or on a digital tablet. During the participatory tour focusing on monastic life, props are used to recreate the gestures and activities of a typical day in a monastic community.

The Chapelle de Graydon was founded in 1859 and fully restored in 2009. During the summer season, it is the venue for a pastoral mass every Wednesday.

Nature

The hike to Lac du Fouyet leads through an alpine pasture at the foot of Pic de la Corne. It is classified as a moderately difficult tour, 5.7 km long and lasting approximately 2 hours and 55 minutes.

Cows and goats graze on the Alpage de Graydon at the foot of Roc d’Enfer. The hike to Pointe de Nantaux follows a very steep path through the forest, then leads to the alpine pasture and ends at the summit via a long ridge.

Winter and gastronomy

Roc d’Enfer is connected by shuttle to the other resorts in the Portes du Soleil ski area. During the summer holidays, Le Clos aux chèvres offers families culinary shepherding walks that end with a tasting of cheeses, including AOP Chevrotin.
