Nature

The Parc de Neuvecelle covers five hectares spread across terraces and is listed as a ZNIEFF (Zone Naturelle d’Intérêt Ecologique, Faunistique et Floristique). The park includes three wetlands – two reed beds and a pond – which are connected by small streams. The Parc de Neuvecelle also lies on a bird migration route and is particularly attractive to numerous bird species.

The Parc Clair Matin is an esplanade and promenade covering just under 14,000 m², with an impressive view of the lake. It features a children’s playground, picnic tables and an information board.

Culture and History

The Église de Neuvecelle was originally built in the 12th century as a chapel for the lords of Neuvecelle within the castle enclosure. The present-day building of the Chapelle de Maraîche was constructed around 1620; only the base of the bell tower and its Romanesque doorway remain from the former chapel.

La Grange au Lac is a music auditorium built entirely of wood, with seating for 1,200 spectators and 200 musicians. The venue hosts numerous orchestras, singers and musicians of various backgrounds.

Trails

La Promenade is a 6.2 km walking route with a duration of two hours. The Boucle des Oratoires (Ouest) passes seven of Neuvecelle’s nine oratories over 4.2 km in 1 hour and 30 minutes.

The Plage de Grande Rive offers a walking route along the lakeshore, pebble beaches for swimming, and a pedestrian zone suitable for inline skating, cycling and riding scooters.

L’Escale Gourmande is an annual gastronomic festival held in the municipality of Neuvecelle in the Haute-Savoie département. It highlights regional products and local culinary expertise and gives food lovers the opportunity to meet local producers and chefs.
