Nature
Margencel encompasses two Natura 2000 sites. A large part of the Planbois Forest lies in the southwest. At the mouth of the Redon River is Plage du Redon, a natural beach area with vegetation. Trees provide shaded areas there; swimming at Plage du Redon is not supervised.
Physical Activity
The “Boucle des deux moulins” starts at the cemetery car park and leads through fields and forests. Along the way, the footpath passes remarkable mills with their hydraulic systems. La Tartencelloise is a traditional race in Margencel.

Les Petits Trappeurs de Haute-Savoie is a 500 m² indoor play area for children aged 4 to 12. Moulin de Pinget is powered by the water of the Redon. A channel directed the water straight onto the mill wheel, thereby increasing the hydraulic force. Tours of Moulin de Pinget are organised by the Association Patrimoine et Traditions during the European Heritage Days.
