Lathuile is situated on a slope at the foot of the Taillefer and overlooks the wetlands of Bout-du-Lac. The Parc naturel régional du Massif des Bauges is also located near Lathuile, a geopark described as preserved, with villages, meadows, forests and impressive limestone formations.

Culture and History
The parish church of Saint-Ours in Lathuile was built in 1862–1863 and features a Neo-Gothic elevation. The Château de Reveu is also part of the village’s history: it has been documented since 1485, while its stair tower dates back to the 15th century. Later, probably in 1889, the Château de Reveu became the town hall and school.
The Sentier de la Mine follows in the footsteps of 20th-century miners through forests, mountain pastures and hamlets. Coal mining there ended in 1948.
Hiking
La Boucle du Taillefer is an easily accessible hike on Lac d’Annecy. It crosses the Taillefer ridge and then continues through the agriculturally shaped Entrevernes valley. The Boucle des Bochettes is suitable for experienced hikers, takes 2 hours and 10 minutes, and reaches a maximum elevation of 1,000 metres.
The guided hike to the Pointe de Banc Plat begins at the Montgellaz meeting point in the municipality of Lathuile; carpooling is possible. It is rated as very difficult and involves seven hours of walking.
Cycle Paths and Other Activities
Les Balcons de Lathuile passes the Église de Lathuile at kilometre 1.77. The route is listed as a 5.51-kilometre circular trail starting from the Le Polé car park, leading onto the cycle greenway and then back to the starting car park.
The Chemin du Facteur leads visitors to discover Lac d’Annecy, villages and the region’s cultural heritage. Canyon – La Mine also offers a vertical canyoning descent with hanging pools; a good command of rope techniques is required.
Nature
The Cascade de Nanceau is visible all year round, although it carries less water during dry periods.
Regional Cuisine
In the area around Lathuile, the Refuge de la Combe offers locally produced organic goat’s and sheep’s cheese as well as Savoyard cuisine made with farm products, including cheese, cured meats, salad and a dessert of the day.
