Culture and history
In Faucigny, the Musée des ornements de la femme is housed in an old Savoyard farmhouse overlooking the village of Faucigny and the ruins of its castle. A guided tour with commentary presents the history of lace and its various stitch types.
The church of Faucigny has a dome built in the 19th century. Its interior decoration was entrusted to the painter J.B Ferraris in 1867. The church has been listed as a historic monument since 2001.
Ruins and landscape
The ruins of Château de Faucigny are located at a viewpoint and overlook part of the Arve Valley. Visitors can explore the ruins; the site is open to the public year-round and can be visited free of charge.
Getting around
The “Boucle de Faucigny, église et château” hiking route begins at the church car park in the Chef-Lieu district.
Regular bus route K runs through Faucigny and connects Annemasse with Bonneville. It operates through Faucigny from Monday to Saturday, except on public holidays.
Events
An edition of the Fête du bois et de l’artisanat took place in the village on Sunday, 14 September, from 10 a.m. and was free of charge.
