Cervens: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Church of Saint-Étienne in Cervens is a church completed in 1845 in the Sardinian neoclassical style. It has a semicircular apse; its bell tower is located at the northwest corner and has no interior wall. The church is free to access and open daily throughout 2026.

Culture and History

The centre of Cervens is laid out in a rectangular shape and features parallel streets. It was formerly surrounded by a V-shaped ditch about two metres deep, which was filled in around 1800.

The Place Rouge in front of Cervens Town Hall was created on the initiative of Albert Boccagny, who had been mayor since 1927, and his municipal council. It was inaugurated on 14 July 1936 with a large event.

Cycling

The Circuit de la Vallée Verte bears the “Vélo et Fromages” label and is a route of moderate difficulty. Its course includes the ascent to the 1,117-metre-high Col de Cou. After Boëge and the Col de Saxel, the route follows the third bend of the descent via the D35 to Cervens and then continues to Draillant.

Landscape

Numerous municipal paths connect the hamlets of Cervens with neighbouring municipalities. Cervens lies on the slope of a small mountain connected to Mont Voirons and is partly covered by forests and pastures.

The channel known as the “Ruisseau des Moises” was once created to fortify the former feudal castle of La Rochette. Along its course, it powered a mill, a sawmill and a forge.
