Anthy-sur-Léman: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The lakeshore of Anthy-sur-Léman is almost four kilometres long. It can be explored on foot along the former customs path, which follows the shore from one end of the municipality to the other.

Culture and History

The Church of Saint-Barthélémy was built in 1882 on the site of an older chapel. It houses a bronze bell cast in Geneva in 1790 by Jean-Daniel Dreffet and classified as a historic monument, as well as a polychrome Christ on the cross from the 15th century, classified as historic cultural heritage.

The hamlet of Séchex preserves a traditional old village centre and characteristic farmhouses that bear witness to the village’s agricultural past.

The erratic boulder Pierre Vuarnet, also known as Pierre des Sacrifices, was left behind by the Rhône Glacier. Its surface, which slopes towards the lake, contains 44 cupules. The Pierre dite Pierre des Sacrifices in Anthy was classified as a historic monument by decree of 28 January 1907.

Landscape

Anthy-sur-Léman is located in the Chablais UNESCO Global Geopark. Its designation, awarded in 2012, recognises the exceptional geological and cultural heritage of Chablais, expressed in remarkable landscapes.

Part of the Anthy-sur-Léman shoreline is designated as a Natura 2000 site because of its ornithological importance and extends as far as the Coudrée Golf Course. The Fossaux stream was restored to a more natural state within the Parc des Rives.

By the Lake

Professional providers offer activities such as stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking and pedal boating at two of Anthy-sur-Léman’s four beaches. Champ de l'eau beach is a natural and landscaped lakeside beach for swimming or relaxing, where visitors can experience the local flora and fauna.

Recorts beach is a long pebble beach with a large lawn, children’s play facilities, a boules court and a traditional fishing harbour. Parc municipal des Rives is a grass-covered beach where swimming is unsupervised. Chantrell beach has a small pebble access area and a large lawn.

Local Life

In summer, gourmet markets featuring local producers and craftspeople are held at Plage des Recorts on Wednesdays. Fish caught in the lake, including whitefish and perch, can be enjoyed by buying directly from fishermen or at restaurants along the lakeshore.
