Venterol: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Chemin du Tomple is part of the signposted, 8 km-long cultural hiking trail “Balade venterolaise”. As a former royal road between Venterol and Vinsobres, it has been reopened to the public. Today, exhibitions and gatherings take place in the Temple de Venterol, which has been restored and redesigned as a cultural venue.

Culture

The Eglise Saint-Michel de Novézan contains an Annunciation painting copied from a 15th-century Florentine fresco. It also houses a depiction of Saint Michael vanquishing the demon, dating from 1644. The Chapelle Sainte-Perpétue in the municipality of Venterol already existed in the 16th century.

History

The Château Ratier is a preserved, square tower belonging to a medieval fortress. It was abandoned around the middle of the 15th century. Standing on a hill, it overlooks the old road to Nyons.

Village Character and Wine

The washhouse in Venterol dates from 1876 and was renovated in 2006. It spans a canal fed by the Sauve river. The Vignoble de Provensol produces an AOC wine from the Côtes du Rhône appellation.
