Jansac lies at an altitude of 700 metres and offers a view of the Vercors citadel. A balcony road connects Recoubeau and Jansac and also provides a view of the Vercors. Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Recoubeau-Jansac can consider this place as a travel destination.
Nature and trails
The marked circular trail Le pas de la Pousterle starts and ends in Recoubeau-Jansac. The route is 8.5 kilometres long; four hours of walking time and 670 metres of ascent are indicated for it.
The mountains Montagne de Cerne and Montagne d'Aucelon are located nearby. The summit Pic de Luc and the mountain Mont de Label are also in the surrounding area.
History and culture
In 1030, Recoubeau was a fief of the bishops of Die; they disputed this fief with the Count of Valentinois.
The historic site Abbaye de Valcroissant, the Porte Saint-Marcel monument and the Église Saint-Julien church are located in the surrounding area. The Ancienne abbaye de Saint-Thiers de Saou monument is also located in the wider regional area.
The reconstructed Château de Recoubeau is not open to visitors. However, its Renaissance silhouette can be seen from the outside.
Farms and regional produce
The Ferme du Rif Papier in Recoubeau-Jansac is an organic farm. The farm processes all of its milk into various types of cheese, especially Picodon AOP. The products are sold at local markets, in shops in the Diois and directly from the farm. Visits to the Ferme du Rif Papier are possible by prior arrangement.
The Ferme Capribouq offers a guided tour of the goat barn, contact with animals, tastings and a farm shop.
