Mornans combines a distinctive historic site with a clearly defined hiking landscape: the Tour de Mornans is the former keep of Mornans Castle and was built in the last quarter of the 13th century. The pyramid-shaped Serre-Antoine mountain overlooks Mornans and offers panoramic views over the Roubion Valley.

The Murets d’Art project was established in October 2019 along the local circular route “Le tour de Serre Antoine” near the Bompard ruins and comprises three artistic interventions. Les Ariotes is a private historic site beneath a large oak tree, where sermons were preached during the period of clandestine worship.
Nature
The Serre Antoine circular trail has an elevation gain of 500 metres and is 13.33 kilometres long. Mornans is the starting point for hikes, including the four-hour Serre Antoine circular trail. The hiking car park for the Serre Antoine route is located at Haut Célas, in front of the hamlet with Mornans town hall.
During the hike, the Tour de Mornans is visible and overlooks the Roubion Valley. Because of the risk of collapse, approaching the Tour de Mornans is expressly prohibited.
History
East of Mornans stands a stele commemorating Isabeau Vincent, known as “the Shepherdess of Crest”. Isabeau Vincent was arrested in 1688 and subsequently imprisoned in the Tour de Crest and in a convent. She is said to have entered a trance one night, prophesied and called on the Protestants to resist.
