The Gorges du Léoncel form a narrow, wild corridor along the Petite Lyonne, with clearings and very clear water. This corridor leads to the Plateau de Léoncel and the Abbaye de Léoncel, which can be visited with a guided and/or commentary tour.

The Association des Amis de Léoncel offers cultural events, including conferences on the history of the monastery, trips and concerts.

Hiking trails

The 8.69 km, moderately difficult and signposted circular hike through the Forêt de Comblezine starts and ends in Léoncel. It leads through a woodland landscape with a variety of tree species and wildlife characteristic of the Vercors forests, following old paths connected with the history of the Cistercian monks of this abbey.

The route to the Col de la Bataille is a 21.45 km, very difficult and signposted circular hike starting and ending in Léoncel. It leads through deep forests, spectacular rocks, alpine meadows and open panoramas over the Drôme valleys.

Leisure and winter

The Parcours Aventure Grand Echaillon is an innovative adventure park without harnesses in the Grand Echaillon forest and resort area. When weather conditions are suitable, it is open year-round and accessible to all age groups, including children aged three and over.

The Parcours Aventure Grand Echaillon includes two children's courses with eleven play stations at a height of around one metre, two large net areas at heights of three to seven metres, the “Goutte perché” hut, a pirate ship with a lookout at a height of eight metres, and slides.

The Grand Echaillon area has a high-quality Nordic skiing area with 40 km of groomed and signposted trails, as well as 30 km of snowshoe and walking paths.

In the Grand Echaillon area, visitors can enjoy classic cross-country skiing and skating, Nordic ski touring, sledging, snowshoeing, fat biking, as well as hiking and mountain biking in summer.

The Col des Limouches connects Léoncel with the Rhône Valley and Valence (40 km).
