Culture and History
The Oppidum Saint-Marcel is considered an important archaeological site from the Iron Age and was designated a protected historic monument in 1993.
The Chapelle Sainte-Anne is a Provençal Romanesque building dating from around the 11th century, which was extended in the 17th century. It contains numerous remains from the Roman period and is located in the centre of the cemetery.
The Église Saint-Marcel et Saint-Mène was built from a Romanesque castle chapel dating from the 12th century. It houses 15 painted wooden statues from the 17th century, which are classified as historic monuments. It also has a baptismal font carved from a Corinthian capital and supported by a Roman column.
The Chapelle Saint-Marcel is the last surviving remnant of the first castrum, dating from the 9th to the 12th century; only the choir remains.
