Nature

Village and History
The village of La Charce is built from limestone and sandstone. In La Charce, sandstone was used primarily for cornerstones and surround stones.
The Château de La Charce was remodelled in the 16th century by the Protestant captain René de la Tour-Gouvernet. It was owned by Philis de La Charce (1645–1703), a renowned heroine of the Dauphiné. The remains of the Château de La Charce were listed as a Monument historique by decree of 13 July 1926. The Château de La Charce can only be viewed from the outside.
Traditions
Even today, the majority of La Charce’s inhabitants are buried in Protestant family cemeteries.
At the seven annual linden blossom markets, including the one in La Charce, traders buy dried linden blossoms directly from the collectors who bring their batches there.
