Culture and history

Historically, Cobonne was located on a transhumance route to the Vercors plateaus. The Église Saint-Pierre is a former castle church; its three-bay nave and regular arches are considered typical of the late 11th century. In the 14th century, the church’s choir and apse were removed to make way for a round tower belonging to the fortified castle complex. Inside, a volute capital was reused as a holy-water basin.
