Culture and history
The parish church of Châteauneuf was built in the 19th century, replacing the former castle chapel. The Louis XV-style portal, which once dominated the entrance to the castle, is still standing today. In 2017, the parish funded the restoration of the Stations of the Cross, partly through a fundraising campaign.
Commented or guided tours of the Charrière monastic complex provide insights into rural Franciscan architecture and the history of the monastery. This history is closely connected with the life and remembrance of the region and the village of Châteauneuf-de-Galaure.
