Cuisine
At the Domaine Pradelle winery, the history of winegrowing stretches back over six generations of the Pradelle family. Domaine Pradelle produces AOP Crozes-Hermitage wines and offers an approximately one-hour guided tour of the winemaking cellar, fermentation area and cellars, followed by a tasting of various cuvées; reservations are required.
Domaine des Arcandres offers a guided walk through the vineyards that ends with a tasting on a plot with panoramic views. After making a reservation, it is also possible to take a tour of the winery with the winemaker, followed by a wine tasting. Visitor options include food-and-wine pairings as well as boards of regional products.
Domaine des Entrefaux has 27 hectares of vineyards spread across Beaumont-Monteux, Mercurol and Chanos-Curson. It offers individual tours and tastings on request and produces AOP Crozes-Hermitage wines as well as Vin de pays blanc.
The Marché de Chanos Curson takes place on the Place du 8 mai 1945 in Chanos-Curson and is open from 16:30 to 19:00 on Tuesdays from 1 April to 31 December. At the Marché de Chanos Curson, producers sell vegetables, fruit, honey, cheese, essential oils and cosmetics.
Culture and history
The Église Saint-Martin was rebuilt in the 19th century in the neo-Gothic style. The Maison de la Dame has four finely crafted windows with tracery on its south façade. The Maison forte de Conflans has been extensively restored.
The Maison de la Dame in Curson is also called Château de la Dame; according to tradition, Diane de Poitiers is said to have been held prisoner there.
The Etienne Pochon winery is located in the Château de Curson, a château dating from the late 16th century, in Chanos-Curson. The Château de Curson building has several vaulted cellars. Individual tours and tastings at Etienne Pochon are available on request.
Countryside and trails
The Les collines de Chanos-Curson route is a 9.8 km circular trail. It starts and ends in Chanos-Curson, runs between orchards and vineyards, and is signposted with yellow PR markings.
Activities
The Centre équestre Rio Bravo offers one- or two-hour horseback rides through vineyards and orchards.
