Culture
The parish church of Saint-Laurent dates from the 13th century, collapsed in 1955 and was rebuilt between 1961 and 1963. It has a rectangular nave and a semicircular apse with a domed vault. The name Saint-Laurent is associated with a relic of Saint Lawrence, which, according to a traditional story, was left in Barret by a Spaniard travelling from Rome to Spain.
At the northern foot of the village lies the Fontaine-réservoir du Terron, a covered, vaulted basin. Its present construction probably dates from no earlier than the second half of the 19th century. The farm architecture of Barret-de-Lioure mainly consists of originally tall buildings that were later expanded with attached residential or agricultural buildings. The Fête de la Saint Laurent is considered a traditional festival of Barret-de-Lioure.

On the return journey, the route follows an ancient path that was the only connection between Montbrun-les-Bains and Séderon until 1875.
