The Plan d'eau de Champataule & Bois de But hike starts at the Plan d'eau de Champataule in the Reyssouze valley. It leads towards the But forest and is possible every day all year round.

The private Plan d'eau de Champataule requires a special permit; the reciprocal permit is not accepted there.

Culture and history

The Château de Fleyriat was built in 1862 by the architect Edouard Corroyer in the Neo-Renaissance style as a country château.

The grounds of the Château de Fleyriat contain two ponds fed by a spring. The second pond has a small island that can be reached via a metal bridge.

Visitors can explore the Château de Fleyriat estate; the château itself is closed to the public and can only be viewed from the outside.
