Culture
The Moulin de Servignat on the Reyssouze is at the heart of the local history. The medieval mill has been mentioned since 1274; its architecture and machinery date from the 19th century. On the night of 30 to 31 October 1886, the Moulin de Servignat was devastated by fire. Today, it can only be viewed from the outside, as it is an inhabited private residence.
The Route des Trois Moulins follows a 20-kilometre route to four mills and is suitable for bicycles, mountain bikes or cars. Three of the four mills are traversed by the Reyssouze. The route begins at Camping du Coq in Mantenay, passes through Saint-Jean-sur-Reyssouze and ends in Servignat. Along the way, it reveals the architectural and ecological features of this part of the Bresse.
Nature
Servignat is part of the ZNIEFF Basse vallée de la Reyssouze, a type II ecological inventory area. The area preserves wet meadows and damp woodland with the characteristic flora and fauna of the Val de Saône. At the same time, it forms an ecological corridor for wildlife.
For some noteworthy bird species, the ZNIEFF serves as a passage area, a stopover and temporary habitat during migration, and in some cases as a breeding area.
Routes
The Circuit VTT-VTC 20 is a 23.1-kilometre circular route with a stated duration of 1 hour and 50 minutes. It connects Servignat and Mantenay-Montlin along the Reyssouze. The route offers views of the Reyssouze, the Mâconnais, the famous giant rooster and the landscape of Haute Bresse.
